School Uniform
We have 3 options for purchasing a school uniform at John Blow Primary School:
In July 2023, we added Nationwide School Uniform to our approved suppliers list - we have a small stock of items available in school and can order items for you. By buying direct from the supplier, we are offered a cheaper rate, but this means that there may be a short wait for your items.
K&H Sports in Newark Town Centre also stock our uniform items.
The Friends of John Blow (PTA) sell second-hand uniform if required. There is a rack of uniform in the school hall available for parents.
Please contact the school office if you would like any support.

To maximise the amount of time children are engaged in PE, from September 2023, we ask children to come into school in their sports kit on the days that they have PE. Children must remove watches and earrings before all PE and games lessons for reasons of safety; safety tape is available in all classrooms to tape up ears if earrings are unable to be removed.
Long hair will need to be tied back during activities which pose a risk of hair becoming tangled (e.g. PE and Design and Technology activities)
Swimming.
Children will need a swimming bag, costume and towel. Girls need a one-piece costume, boys need trunks or close-fitting recognised swimming shorts. In order to wear goggles in swimming lessons, we require a parental consent form (available from the school office).
PE and swimming are part of the National Curriculum and are statutory requirements.
All clothing, footwear and equipment must be clearly marked with the child's name. We cannot accept responsibility for lost clothing.
Jewellery should not be worn in school. The only exception is for pierced ears, where studded earrings may be worn. Smartwatches (non-cellular) are permitted in school; if these are causing a distraction to learning, we will ask for them to be removed - if this is the case, we will inform parents of this decision via a phone call.
