04.03.26- Manor Farm Vs John Blow
Manor Farm 3–0 John Blow
The final scoreline didn’t quite reflect how well John Blow performed in what was an encouraging display against strong opposition. The team started brightly, creating a number of early chances and putting Manor Farm under pressure. Noah L was particularly lively in the opening stages, forcing the goalkeeper into a couple of very good saves.
Despite the positive start, it was Manor Farm who took the lead against the run of play. John Blow continued to push forward though, with Noah J making several excellent runs that caused problems for the Manor Farm defence. In midfield and defence, Harry W and Jack battled hard, winning tackles and helping to create attacking opportunities.
At the back, Freddie and Ronnie defended well and dealt with a number of Manor Farm attacks. Just before half-time, Harry D made a very good save to keep John Blow in the game going into the break.
There were changes at half-time with Evie and Harry G coming on, and both made a positive impact. They worked hard throughout the second half, creating chances and getting opportunities for themselves as John Blow continued to threaten. Several chances came and went, but the Manor Farm goalkeeper was again called into action to make more good saves.
As John Blow pushed forward looking for an equaliser, Manor Farm were able to add two late goals to secure a 3–0 victory.
With four Year 4 children again playing against older opposition, the team showed that they are more than capable of competing. There is lots to learn as a team in games like this, but plenty of positives to take into the next one.
