John Blow Vs Thorpe on the Hill

Match Report: John Blow 4–0 Thorpe on the Hill
John Blow made the perfect start to their league campaign with a dominant 4–0 victory over Thorpe on the Hill. It was an all-round team performance full of energy, quality, and determination — setting the tone for the season ahead.
The home side started brightly, controlling possession and pressing high. Their early pressure paid off when midfielder Noah J fired home a brilliant opening goal, showing great composure to put John Blow 1–0 up. The team continued to build momentum, with Evie causing constant problems for the Thorpe defence through her tireless running and clever link-up play — she was unlucky to see a fine first-half effort come back off the post.
Before half-time, Harry W doubled the advantage with a sharp finish to make it 2–0, giving John Blow a well-deserved lead at the break.
The second half saw the hosts continue to dominate. Harry W was in unstoppable form, adding two more well-taken goals to complete a superb hat-trick and secure the match ball. His movement and finishing were a constant threat throughout.
Behind him, Jack W produced a commanding display in midfield, dictating play and breaking up attacks with intelligence and composure. Ronnie S was excellent at the back — strong in the tackle, calm on the ball, and consistently accurate with his passing — while Freddie D put in a solid performance full of determination and defensive steel.
In goal, Harry D made several key saves to keep Thorpe at bay and preserve the clean sheet. Up front, Harry G provided a brilliant assist and was unlucky not to score himself, forcing some fine stops from the opposition keeper. Noah L also impressed with his excellent link-up play, creating numerous chances and keeping the attack ticking smoothly.
It was also a competitive debut for our Year 4 players — Harry W, Jack W, Noah J, and Noah L — who all rose to the challenge superbly against older Year 5 and 6 opponents. Their composure, skill, and teamwork were outstanding throughout.
Overall, it was a superb team performance — 2–0 up at half-time, 4–0 at full-time — and a fantastic way to kick off the league season.
